After the post “Under the Tuscan sun”, many of you wondered if I could recommend where to stay. Well it depends if you are looking for a romantic hideaway or traveling with children or friends. For the ultimate “tete a tete” global shopping or a second honeymoon, I would say go to Il Pellicano.
Born from a love story in the early 1960s, Il Pellicano is one of the most romantic hideaways in the world. Cocooned by the beauty of nature, it is tucked away between the blue sea and the lush Mediterranean vegetation on the Argentario coast. This secluded resort, with its heated salt-water pool overlooking the sea, private beach, panoramic terraces, tennis court, gym and Spa. The décor is elegant but understated and you can choose between fine dining at the acclaimed Il Pellicano restaurant or a more casual meal at the Pelligrill or just some local Trattoria in the nearby Porto Ercole.
You might be surprised when checking in, when questioned, due to there privacy courtesy – Do you wish for anyone to know that you are here? So in case you are traveling undercover, you’re safe here.
For those traveling global shopping with children or friends, Hotel Villa Domizia located in Porto Santo Stefano is a good alternative. It’s on the seaside as well with a restaurant and you don’t have to get a mortgage to stay there.
