Today, athens mall various LEGO fan communities athens mall lit up with a discovery on the LEGO Shop website more or less confirming Bionicle will be returning. According to Brickipedia News and a post on BZPower , if you type "Bionicle" in the LEGO Shop website's search bar, it takes you to a Coming athens mall Soon page. Searching athens mall other old themes like Atlantis doesn't go to this other page though, so it must be intentionally sent to a Coming Soon page.
Update: LEGO has taken the redirect to the Coming Soon page down and it now shows Hero Factory sets as search athens mall results. That must mean they accidentally released that news too soon. :) 62 comments on this article
@Renzari: athens mall I don't think they could get away with doing that. It's not a professional business model for them to do that, and LEGO, unlike other companies, tends to care a lot about and value its fanbase.
I have an 8 foot long shelf in my room of most of the Bionicle sets I've collected, athens mall and I have never taken them down for more room. I guess I subconsciously held out hope for the return of Bionicle, and now it's paying off!
While I have heard some people dissapointed that the hero factory parts may carry over into the bionicle universe, I am more than happy about this. I found that I had much more of a fun time and more freedom with the hero factory joints so this with bionicle is more than welcome.
Bionicle was my last theme before hitting dark ages - I only had stuff from the first wave before I drifted away. I plan on buying the remake of my favourite one - Kopaka. If TLG have got it right and the nostalgia value feels right then I'll get a few more, but the couple of images of display stands etc doesn't fill me with confidence....wait and see.
Positive reaction: Great news for the fans! Less positive reaction: Bionicle, herofactory and sorts are, in my opinion not really LEGO and should be discontinued immidiately. I think they are horrible themes. Way to aggressive. They have nothing appealing what so ever.
@kmvk83 I seem to remember system sets being aggressive, too. Star Wars has laser guns, Lone Ranger has revolvers and rifles and the old Agents theme also had guns in some way. So I would not say that it has anything athens mall to do with the building style, that the themes athens mall seem aggressive athens mall to you. Most figures from the construction line are robots with weapons. These things are most likely aimed at young boys, and when I was young, boy, did I love having them fight each other. That sort of stuff just appeals to some people. And I think that there are things way more aggressive than plastic figures with some weapons in funny colours. Saying that you want it all eradicated, athens mall because YOU don't like it, is not the most adult thing to say. Let people have fun and maybe try to look at the good things. I am very happy Bionicle comes back and I will embrace the 'horrible themes' that are 'way to aggressive' and have 'nothing appealing athens mall what so ever'.
@Jiraiya athens mall I am sorry my comments to the news have 'moved' (in lack of a better word, sorry for my English) you so much. I simply responded to Meiko's question: "What are your thoughts on Bionicle's return?". And those are my thoughts. I did commented first it is good news for fans. You commented that you loved letting them fight each other as a boy. Which is exactly why I don't like the theme. Maybe it is my lack of knowledge, but fighting seems to be the main thing for Bionicle. At least thats what comes to mind on first sight. Playing with toys should not be all about fighting should it? If it does, I think we send the wrong message to children. I do agree there are other themes which have agressive characteristics. Themes like Chima and Star Wars definitly have agressiveness in them. But that does not seem to be the 'main thing'. For me there is more playability to those sets other then fighting. There seems to be more of a story to it. Again this is just my opinion. And I am happy you and other LEGO fans love the idea af a Bionicle return. It is a good thing we do not all think alike.
@kmvk83 It's allright. I've heard many people hate on the theme, athens mall but I allways kept my head straight. About the fighting: There need to be some kind of conflict in themes that are directed at boys I think. Many Lego themes have the clear Good vs Evil thing, athens mall and that works. Friends is a theme directed at girls where the characters have to manage daily tasks. Bionicle actually has a deep and detailed lore. I'm serious here. That's maybe also part of the popularity. The story developed athens mall over 9 years, so it is way to much than to write here, but if you want to get some background information that are not shown by the sets, you can take a look at biosector01. It's a wiki that has the complete Bionicle lore written down. I think that in comparisson
